Changing Lives Coalition, Inc vision is to continue to grow as a nonprofit organization for the youth of
Artesia NM. This means growing our nonprofit to continue to support and influence Artesia’s youth from
a young age through their adult age. Our youth is the future and providing a support system for the
schools, parents, and community is what guides CLC to be the best we can be.
Our after school program is directed to help youth outside of school hours. We serve children from 4th through 7th grade. Our purpose is to encompass a broad range of focus areas including academic support,
mentoring, youth development, and arts. The youth are provided with an after school nutritional snack
and transportation to and from the program.
CLC understands the importance of outside school hours enrichment needs and therefore is committed to
providing youth with the necessary support to continue to their growth outside of school hours. Our goal
is to provide high-quality after school program to generate positive outcomes for youth including
improved academic performance, classroom behavior, and health and nutrition.

DFC Program is a hub of resources offering materials, support, and education for the community on
current trends in drugs and crime. The DFC program is committed to reducing the problems of drug and
alcohol abuse in our community through providing the community and youth with the necessary
education to fight back against the growing drug epidemic.

Changing Lives Coalition, Inc. does not only provide youth with an academic and drug-free education,
but it also aids maintain healthy lifestyles. This is why CLC committed to bring the Summer Meal
Program to Artesia NM. In the last two years, CLC has been able to provide meals for all children 18
years and younger in Artesia during the Summer months when school is out on summer vacation.
To date we have fed over 1800 children!
As we continue to grow our hope is to continue to develop programs that will support all youth of Artesia
in different areas of their life.
Mentoring can help youth as they go through challenging life changes, such as dealing with stressful
changes at home or transitioning to adulthood. Close, healthy, supportive relationships between mentors
and mentees that last for a significant portion of time are vital for success. Because we believe that youth
need healthy relationships with adults that can provide guidance we have partnered with Artesia Public
Schools to bring mentoring groups to the elementary, intermediate, and Junior high school. We are
currently reaching over 100 youth a school year and hope to continue to grow this number.
PresidentTate joined Changing Lives Coalition in 2015 as President. Tate has over 10 years of experience in strategy development and operations management in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining Changing Lives Coalition, Tate served on several boards in the Artesia community with a focus on nonprofit clients. He brings experience in strategy development, project management, management, process improvement, and accounting to Changing Lives Coalition.
Vice PresidentDebbie’s commitment to Changing Lives Coalition’s mission strengthens our organization. She has been involved with several non-profit organizations, such as, Artesia Clean and Beautiful, Artesia’s Chamber of Commerce, and Presbyterian Medical Services. Debbie nonprofit’s experience extends over 27 years. Debbie has been an asset to the growth of our programs and continues to help us cultivate ideas to assist our youth.
SecretaryLeah has worked with local non-profit organizations since moving to Artesia. Leah has held officer positions for charitable nonprofits, such as Board Member, Team Captain, and Professional Advisor. Her extensive work with non-profits gives her the knowledge needed to help our community. Leah’s experience with special events, public speaking, marketing, community relations, and fundraising has helped Changing Lives Coalition establish its foundation.
TreasurerAudrey, a native Artesian, brings forth experience in accounting, marketing, management, fundraising, and public speaking to Changing Lives Coalition. As a former 7024U employee, her vestment in our program continues through serving on the CLC Board of Directors.
Board MemberRichard has worked with youth in our community for over 15 years. He is a Deacon at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. His background with victim assistance and youth ministry is valuable to Changing Lives Coalition.
John Ross Null
Board MemberJohn Ross combines his unique blend of nonprofit and education experience to help strengthen Changing Lives Coalition. His multi-faceted experience helps us promote an unbiased and simpler view of our community. John Ross brings to the job a passion for organizing diverse groups of people from public and private sectors to expand the capacity of charitable nonprofits to deliver better services and value.
Executive DirectorBrissa Padilla joined Changing Lives Coalition January 2016 as Executive Director. In this role, Brissa serves as the initial point of contact for our members and others seeking information on Changing Lives Coalition and coordinates the calendar of our Board of Directors. Brissa oversees the programs of Changing Lives Coalition, assuring they run efficiently and virtuously. Brissa joins the Changing Lives Coalition with diverse experience in directing programs and event, production, and project management. She has experience in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Brissa’s passion to help Artesia’s community persuades her to grow CLC’s programs to their full potential.
